whats the point?

seems like everyone i care about or like talking to on a regular basis is leaving.. even Simpletons is dead anymore and i just dont have the energy to keep trying to hold everything together.  my family drains me enough... i used to have time for this stuff, but now im lucky if i even get online long enough to check my mail. its so depressing. i just dont belong anywhere, and when i finaly start to feel a comradery with people, they all leave..
i cant just be one of those 'soccer moms' who bakes pies all day and its all about the kids every second. i am me, i will ALWAYS be me, whether i have kids or not.. but life just wont LET me be me....

  1. Awww Zeri. Of course you belong. You are an important part of the simming community. I remember days upon days when we were both in GD and we'd be helping other simmers out.

Life just has a funny way of rearing itself. It seems everyone has gotten busy at one point or another, or are fighting with each other.

Sometime down the line, everything will re-adjust itself and you will find you have lots of time on your hands. Just gotta get through this patch first.

But just remember there are MANY simmers that appreciate you and like you. And if life won't let you be YOU, knock it's teeth in. ;)

  2. I'm still here, just giving all the drama time to blow over. I'll likely return in a couple to a few days. Been playing a ton of Nancy Drew as well as TS3.

And you DO belong, you have as much right to be here as anyone else, and don't let anyone make you feel differently. I agree with all of what LE said, you are appreciated and liked by many!

  3. Zeri, you've been an important part of the community since the beginning. You were one of (if not THE) first Sims 3 simmers that I started communicating with outside that blasted Forum. I loved hearing you tell all about your pets (lol even the mice -- though the snakes are WAAAY cooler) and about wicca and everything else.

Cece's place is pretty slow these days too...it seems that everyone is either out of town or starting school or really busy with outside projects/problems, etc. I miss it like crazy (and I'm one of the ones that hasn't frequented the place much recently), but I know things will pick up.

You absolutely belong, there's no question about that, and I COMPLETELY understand the feeling. I agree with LE in that things have a way of getting back on track, and when the dust settles you can figure out exactly what you want from your blog, from your friendships, from Simpletons, and everything else.

All I know is that there really are many people who genuinely like and respect you. You're ZERI, for pete's sake! I can't think of one person who would have anything even remotely bad to say about you. You're always supportive of people when they need it, and even if they don't say it, I honestly believe people are appreciative of everything you've brought to the community.

And yeah, definitely gotta agree with the 'knocking life's teeth in' advice ^^. Sounds about right to me!

Just out of curiosity (and I apologize if this is a stoopid question), have you joined other blogs or forums or communities that center around some of your other interests? If you belonged to a few, you could at least have some other soft places to fall when things became slow/boring/heated/stressful somewhere else (like the simming community). And hell, you might even be able to get some of your fellow simmers interested too.

And since I'm sure none of that made a lick of sense, I'll just say that you ARE a friend to so many people around here, and you belong with all of us. Don't ever ever stop being YOU, Zeri.

  4. Dude dont leave! I'm definitely not returning if you leave, so you better be here when I do!
Plus I'm doing Vanity, so I'm not totally gone.;)

  5. I understand all too well how someone can feel completely overwhelmed while trying to raise a family and also trying to have some "Me" time.
You have a lot of friends in this community who will still be here when you do find the time.
You do belong in the community and you will find the time to to join in again.

  9. wow than everybody.. i never really expected any reaction to this, i was just really depressed and feeling sorry for myself. (yeah Cel, i have tried other websites/forums and things but i dont feel comfortable anywhere) its hard to find a site where you find ppl who not only share your interests, but who are worth talking to. most ppl i encounter online are douchebags. lol

yeah it could be that the community is just in a 'lull' right now.. after all school did just start and the holidays are coming up.. i shouldnt be so dramatic lol.i guess i get myself worked up sometimes. but with Yazzie, VidKid, and FloridaCowboy all saying they were leaving, i was feeling kinda hopeless. i already lost Jessamine (i know shes not everybodys favorite person, but shes a character, and i like her)

im just feeling very lost and confused right now

  10. I was just wondering about the Wicca thing because that's my chosen path, and there are not many [that are open about it] that I know who share that same faith. =)

Zeri, I do mean to come to your forums more often, however I'm a bit forgetful, and when I get into something like a game, or into another side [I think I simply spread myself a bit too thin >.<] I wind up running out of time or forgetting. =(

  11. Aww, Zeri we all feel a little lost and confused at times. But as you can see. Lots of people will feel the loss if you chose to leave.

And I can get pretty forgetful myself, and will try better in the future.

I mostly definitely lurk your blog even if I don't always post.

But I guess sometimes all it takes is a "Hi! How are you?" To feel a sense of acknowledgement and belonging-ness. <--New Word of the Day. lol.

  12. yeah i could do more to 'get involved' too.. i tend to lurk places and not really make a presence of myself.. (im shy)
im sorry i made everyone worry.. im a big whiny baby lol.
just really depressed.. lotta shit kinda falling apart right now.

i didnt know you were wiccan, AE, me too. :)
i dont practice much anymore, but its still my path.
i had a tarot reader widget on my blog once and Cel asked me if i was wiccan (thats where that whole thing came from)

  13. LOL I see Zeri. You should put it back on!

I haven't practiced in a while either, it gets tough when you get so caught up in a bunch of different things.

  14. Sorry Zeri,

I would have been on if I could =[ It really wasn't my choice to go away for awhile lol
