Now this whole fiasco just leaves a bad taste in my mouth

ok so apparently last night while i was sleeping, there was some interesting happenings on the EA forum. This morning, i come across THIS thread.

ok, harmless enough

but here comes the caped crusader

which at first, was taken with somewhat good humor.

and then all hell broke loose

ok so what the hell happened here people? Did everyone get hit with the dipshit stick while i was away? OVERREACT MUCH??

to ALL parties involved in this travesty of a thread, GET OVER IT. way to go overboard over NOTHING. You know, just hearing someone MENTION Jesus Christ offends ME but i dont go around scolding people about it. Keep your morality to yourself now and then. its not everyone's problem. And altho the OP was a bit of a hot-headed twit, the responses she got were really not deserved.

chill the fuck out people

so boys and girls, if you want your uploads to stay around a while, dont upload to Zshare or they will delete it out from under you.
4shared seems to do a pretty good job at keeping my uploads intact, i dunno why i didnt use that one at the time. i was between computers so i guess i forgot which one i used.

z share= BAD

regarding the EA bumnuggetry and SIMians

i am aware of some of the douchebaggery going on over at EA, but i have not personally witnessed all of it, so i cannot confirm or deny if any of the offenders were in fact members of mine. The shittyness toward Lady EM was not my members, but marie blue IS a member of mine, and im not sure who else was in that thread in question because i either didnt read it or dont remember it.  im not usualy online at night, as thats when i have family time.

but i have this to say. im not a babysitter. i am also not responsible for the bullshit any one from SIMians decides to go and get themselves into. i am ALSO not approving any dipshit behaviour, because i have already told my members to behave themselves. If they keep this up, im going to be seriously angry.

i do NOT appreciate people running around, mucking up my reputation and giving my website a bad name. if i have to institute a new rule, and start banning people for being douchbags, then i will do that. i will not, i repeat NOT TOLERATE anyone being an ASSHOLE TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC. if you want to be a dickhead, fine be yourself. but dont associate yourself with me, plain and simple.

i will NOT continue to take flak for the shittyness of the SIMians community. I started SIMians so that simmers had a place to go and hang out and share content and blogs and forums, NOT as a place for bullies to organise.
go to OT simmers if you want that shit. Thats what that place is for, trolls and dickheads.

This is the last time i am going to say this. If one more member of mine so much as looks at another simmer in a bad way, ill delete the whole dam site

i been booted :(

so, as you all know, my computer recently died. so obviously, i havent been able to play any of my mmos, because i didnt have a computer. so now that i have my new one, i been downloading all my games again, only to discover i been kicked outta my guild :'(

wow thanx guys. oh well, i didnt care about that guild all that much anyway lol. maybe ill just start my own again.

ignorant people cheeze me off -RANT-

so yesterday i saw a status update from my sister in law about gay marriage. it said this:

So let me get this "straight" - Larry King is getting his 8th divorce, Liz Taylor is possibly getting married for a 9th time, Britney Spears had a 55 hour marriage. Jesse James & Tiger Woods are screwing EVERYTHING, yet the idea of same-sex marriage is going to ...destroy...institution of marriage?? Really? ...REALLY.....

so naturally, i agreed, by saying something like yeah i hear that, or whatever.  so THEN this moron comes on, saying he believes in equal rights, and this and that and bla bla bla but gay marriage NO!

i was like???

i was like" you DO realize you just contradicted yourself, right? you believe in equal rights, yet you dont believe gays should have rights??"

then he preceded to spew the whole 'wont somebody think of the children' crapola, like having gay couples somehow warps and dements children everywhere.

i said, you know what gay marriage teaches children? it teaches them that they can be loved for who and what they are. children arent born with these ignorant notions of what 'marriage' should be, they have to be TAUGHT that.

so then, apparently having nothing else intelligent to add to the conversation, i guess he went onto my facebook profile to try to dig up some kinda dirt he could use against me, cause he comes back saying

Oh your a FRIGGIN WICCAN. thats explains why your so air headed.

now, this is all on my sister in laws facebook profile.. hes picking a fight with someone he doesnt even KNOW on someone ELSES profile.. and to stoop so low as to go dragging irrelevant information into the conversation?

i wanna fucking punch this guy.

so i came back with "yeah im a wiccan, and im not ASHAMED to be so, either. at least im a kind and tolerant person unlike YOU"

then my sis in law had to step in and end the fight cause it was getting out of hand and embarrassing her. and he came back with some kinda 'hey no fair, she got the last word' kinda bullshit.

im kinda hoping that he decides to bring to MY page cause im still pissed and im not done arguing with him. fucking ignorant retarded fucking moron

ignore this post

this artical about ADHD is mostly for my own use. in case i lose my bookmarks or the original artical dissapears i still have it here for reference.
i am a parent of a child with ADHD

hyperactive child jumping on couchBy Health.com Because attention deficit hyperactivity disorder symptoms like inattention, impulsivity and hyperactivity affect a child's ability to learn and get along with others, some people think an ADHD child's behavior is caused by a lack of discipline, a chaotic family life or even too much TV. In fact, research suggests that ADHD is largely a genetic disorder. However, some environmental factors may play a role as well. Here, we separate fact from fiction about the causes of ADHD.
Pesticides
Research does suggest a possible link between ADHD and pesticides. A 2010 study in the journal Pediatrics found that children with higher urine levels of organophosphate, a pesticide used on produce, had higher ADHD rates. Another 2010 study showed that women with higher urine levels of organophosphate were more likely to have a child with ADHD. The studies suggest a possible link but can't prove that pesticides cause ADHD. Psychologist Marcy Rosenzweig Leavitt, who works with ADHD patients in private practice in the Los Angeles area, recommends buying organic varieties of fruits and vegetables, especially those prone to high levels of pesticides (or scrubbing nonorganic produce before eating).
Health.com: 10 Dirty Fruits and Vegetables

Smoking or Drinking During Pregnancy
Fetal exposure to alcohol and tobacco is thought to play a role in ADHD. Children exposed to tobacco smoke prenatally are 2.4 times as likely to have ADHD as those who are not, research suggests. "Fetuses exposed to alcohol can develop fetal alcohol effects or fetal alcohol syndrome, and the prominent features for both are the symptoms you see in ADHD," says Dr. Mark L. Wolraich, chief of the section of developmental and behavioral pediatrics at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in Oklahoma City.

Food Additives
Many European countries have banned certain preservatives after research linked hyperactivity in young children to food with mixtures of some artificial food colors and the preservative, sodium benzoate. The FDA says food additives are safe when used "properly," and most additives aren't required to be clearly labeled on packaging. Experts think only a small number of children will benefit from avoiding brightly colored processed foods, which tend to have more additives. "Consult with your child's doctor before putting your child on a particular diet," says Leavitt. Reducing consumption of these additives may or may not help hyperactive behavior; many factors play a role in ADHD.

Health.com: Nine Food Additives That May Affect ADHD

Sugar
Parents often blame sugar for a child's hyperactive behavior, but it's time to stop. "The overwhelming number of studies have not been able to demonstrate behavior changes due to sugar consumption in children," says Wolraich.

A study in the Journal of Abnormal Child Psychology found that mothers who thought their children were given sugar rated their children's behavior as more hyperactive than mothers who were told their children were given a sugar substitute -- regardless of whether their children actually consumed real sugar. Limit sugar if you're concerned about calorie consumption or dental cavities, not because of ADHD.

TV or Video Games
There's no proof that too much TV or video game time causes ADHD, but research has found that school- and college-age students who spent more time in front of a screen had more attention problems than those who did not. In theory, the constant stimulation of TV and video games may make it harder for kids to pay attention. But experts emphasize that screen time alone can't explain ADHD. "There is an association between [ADHD and] the number of hours young children watch TV or play video games, but more study is required to determine if it is a causal relation or it's because children with ADHD gravitate more toward those activities," says Wolraich.

Bad Parenting
ADHD symptoms can be confused with rebellious or bad behavior, so it's not uncommon to try to blame the parents for a child's conduct. But according to the National Resource Center on ADHD, there's no strong evidence that parenting style contributes to ADHD. "While it's true that parenting style and social circumstances may aggravate ADHD behaviors, parental style is not the cause of ADHD," says Leavitt, who says parents who set consistent behavioral limits, use reward and consequence behavior tools, and provide a clear set of expectations can help reduce ADHD symptoms. On the other hand, a stressful home environment or parents who refuse to accept ADHD as a diagnosed condition can make the symptoms worse.

Health.com: Celebrities With ADHD

Brain Injury
"Brain injury that results from a serious blow to the head, a brain tumor, a stroke or disease can cause problems with inattention and poor regulation of motor activity and impulses," says Leavitt. And according to the National Institute of Mental Health, children who have suffered certain types of brain trauma may show symptoms similar to ADHD. But because only a small portion of children with ADHD have suffered a traumatic brain injury, it's not considered a major risk factor.

Diet
Although it was once popularly believed that food allergies or sensitivities cause ADHD, the research so far has been unable to support the idea that diet plays a significant role in ADHD, Leavitt says. Still, certain dietary components may affect behavior, and a recent Australian study suggested that adolescents with diets high in fat, refined sugar and sodium were two times as likely to be diagnosed with ADHD as other kids. Additional studies have also linked diets deficient in omega-3 fatty acids, which are important for brain development and function, to ADHD symptoms.

Genes
The evidence strongly suggests that ADHD is passed down from parents, not parenting style. "There is a very strong heritability to ADHD," affirms Smith. "It may be one of the most heritable psychiatric disorders." In fact, a child with ADHD is four times as likely to have had a relative who was also diagnosed with ADHD, and results from studies of multiple twins indicate that ADHD often runs in families. Ongoing research is looking to pinpoint the genes responsible for ADHD. A new study by scientists at Cardiff University in Wales found that children with ADHD are more likely to have missing or duplicated segments of DNA.

Overdiagnosis
Because there's no objective ADHD test, parents, doctors and educators continue to debate over whether ADHD is overdiagnosed. Some say doctors are too quick to diagnose a child's behavioral problems as ADHD without considering other possible causes. North Carolina State University researchers found that children who are several months younger than their peers could be mistakenly diagnosed with ADHD when, in fact, they are just less mature than their classmates. Nonetheless, according to Wolraich, "most of the evidence is that ADHD is underdiagnosed and undertreated."

Health.com: CDC: Childhood ADHD Rate Rises 22 Percent

Chemical Exposure
While smoking, alcohol and pesticides may be a problem, researchers are looking at other toxins, too. For instance, Boston University School of Public Health researchers found a link between polyfluoroalkyl chemicals -- industrial compounds widely used in products like stain-resistance coatings and food packaging -- and ADHD. Phthalates -- found in items like toys, food packaging and cosmetics -- have also been linked to ADHD. But as with many factors, the evidence points only to a correlation and can't prove that these chemicals contribute to ADHD.

are your holiday decorations killing your family?

This is Part 1 of a four-part series on an asbestos-tainted insulation called Zonolite, a killer that lurks in the attics and walls of millions of homes.

WASHINGTON (Nov. 29) -- Americans living in millions of homes will soon crawl into their attics to collect their holiday decorations. With those colorful lights and ornaments could come invisible and deadly asbestos fibers that decades from now may destroy or end the lives of some of the celebrants.

For years the government has known that the attics and walls of as many as 35 million homes and businesses are insulated with Zonolite, which contains lethal asbestos-tainted vermiculite. Some medical authorities believe that people are still dying because of it.

A Killer in the Attic
Paul Kitagaki Jr. with permission of the Seattle Post-Inteligencer
Ten years ago, then EPA investigator Keven McDermott crawled through an attic in Manchester, Wash., confirming the presence of 130 bags of asbestos-containing Zonolite insulation.

"Based on my experience, and my understanding of the residential and worker exposures to the asbestos in this insulation, I believe firmly that individuals are being sickened and even dying from these exposures across the country on a continuing basis," said Dr. Aubrey Miller, who was medical director for the EPA team that was sent to the remote town of Libby, Mont., in 1999 to investigate reports of hundreds of deaths and illnesses with asbestosis, mesothelioma and lung cancer.

More than 400 deaths have been attributed to exposure to vermiculite in the community in which it was mined, and a litany of solid scientific studies has shown that it can kill.

Yet AOL News has documented that the government has steadfastly refused even to issue widespread warnings to the public about the dangers of a product that became a popular insulation in the 1940s and continued to be installed in U.S. homes through the 1990s.

The tale of this confirmed killer includes political intrigue, White House intervention, industry meddling and the failure of three Environmental Protection Agency administrators to act on their promises.

When asked what they've done to alert the public, EPA officials repeatedly point to the vermiculite page on the agency's website, which even many inside the agency say is inadequate. W. R. Grace & Co., which produced the vermiculite ore used in the insulation, continues to insist that the insulation is safe and presents no health risk to homeowners.

Zonolite insulation hasn't been sold for years, but experts fear its dangers may be more acute today than ever. They worry about the spread of asbestos contamination in aging homes containing this insulation. And they fear that government-funded plans to weatherize millions of homes will increase the likelihood of exposure among installers and residents.

While the threat exists all year, every year until the Zonolite is removed, experts like Miller believe the potential for exposure to the asbestos is greatest during the holidays.

He and other researchers from the EPA and the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention have learned from homeowners that while they may go up to their attics occasionally during the year, holidays almost always necessitate climbing the attic stairs.

Miller told AOL News that decorations, coils of lights, artificial wreaths and trees may have become the resting place for asbestos-laden dust over the years.

He said he can only imagine how much asbestos has collected in the fake trees and wreaths. But he's worried most about exposure to the younger children.

"It's particularly important to understand the risks for children who have higher breathing rates and will inhale more of the fibers," said Miller, a father of two. "Children, especially young ones, tend to spend much of their time on the floor playing with the ornaments and toys, breathing the asbestos-contaminated dust, and have many years for the asbestos fibers that lodge in their lungs to eventually cause disease."

Dangers Widespread
For decades, the Grace mine, six miles from Libby, was the source of more than 70 percent of the world's vermiculite, and geologists say almost all was heavily contaminated with an exceptionally virulent type of cancer-causing asbestos.

A Killer in the Attic
U.S.Geological Service
This shows 1,000-times magnification of needlelike asbestos fibers that contaminate the vermiculite ore from Libby, Mont. These are the same fibers released when Zonolite insulation is even gently disturbed.
No one even knows how many people with lung disease are made ill because of exposure to the tainted vermiculite because most physicians -- especially those who are not occupational medicine specialists -- rarely probe their patients beyond the traditional question of whether they'd ever worked with asbestos.

Since 1999, Miller, Chris Weis, who was EPA's lead forensic toxicologist on the Libby team, and many of their colleagues have worked closely with the victims of vermiculite and their survivors. They and other government scientists collected more evidence than they wanted showing that exposure to the asbestos in the insulation can trigger a 20-year or longer path to eventual disease and death for those who disturb and then breathe in the cancer-causing fibers.

They have fought for years to get the government to disclose the risk to home and business owners throughout the country who have no clue that they may be living with a potentially lethal product.

But they were far from alone in calling for highly publicized government warnings. Then and now, union health and safety personnel expressed concern for their members who crawl in and around attics and ceilings doing renovations and stringing telephone, television and Internet cables.

"I am amazed and appalled that nothing has happened," Joel Shufro, executive director of the New York Committee for Occupational Safety and Health, told AOL News last week.

"Given the tremendous government-funded winterization programs, we can expect exposure to workers to increase as they disturb the old asbestos-carrying insulations," he said.

It was at least eight years ago when NYCOSH -- a nonprofit coalition of 200 unions and hundreds of health and safety activists -- first pleaded for the government to pay attention.

"Failure of the government to inform workers and others who may be exposed to this hazard is incorrigible. This is a well-known, aggressive carcinogen and unless people know about it, it's a prescription for death," Shufro said.

Spreading From Libby to the Rest of U.S.

The vermiculite ore pulled from the Grace mine was laced with naturally occurring tremolite, one of the most toxic of six forms of asbestos regulated by the government.

Interviews and medical records showed that asbestos first killed miners and then their wives and children and then others just living in Libby. More than 400 deaths have been blamed on the asbestos-fouled vermiculite. Government medical testing found that more than a thousand more had signs of asbestos-related disease. But that was just among people living in and near that corner of Montana.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tracked shipments to vermiculite, used in Zonolite insulation, from Libby, Mont., to all over the world.
Andrew Schneider for AOL News
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tracked shipments to vermiculite, used in Zonolite insulation, from Libby, Mont., to all over the world.
How did this dangerous product get into so many homes so far from Libby?

The government analyzed invoices and shipping papers of the massive building-products and chemical multinational. It found that Grace shipped by rail and road 15.6 billion pounds of the identical cancer-causing mineral that spawned the carnage in Libby to more than 750 plants and factories throughout North America.

There the flat, silky smooth, raw vermiculite rock went through high-temperature ovens to pop or exfoliate the ore into popcorn-weight fluff that was then bagged and sold by Grace and hundreds of home- and builder-supply outlets as insulation. Sometimes it was used in scores of other products, such as fertilzer, pool lining, garden additives, potting soil enhancers, cat litter and faux ambers for gas fireplaces.

"There are millions, likely tens of millions of homes in the United States probably contaminated with this [lethal] material. The inventories show it was pretty much distributed from coast to coast, most heavily across the tier of Northern states -- New England, the upper Midwest and the Northwest -- and in all likelihood, it's still there," toxicologist Weis said.

Agency statisticians geographically plotted sales of Libby vermiculite and showed it went into homes at least as far south as Jacksonville, Fla., and deep into the northern portions of the Canadian provinces. Sales were highest from Grace's national network of processing plants.

The threat may be even more pressing today because the potential for hazard is increasing as the homes containing this insulation age.

"They're being renovated. New wiring is being put in as the aging wiring becomes unsafe. Internet wiring and cabling is being installed in these attics, as well as exhaust fans and various type of winterization," said Weis, who is now senior toxicologist with the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences.

"All of this activity -- even the most gentle action -- disturbs the asbestos, endangering not only the workers but spreading it though the homes," he added.

But even if the attics are well sealed off from the rest of the house, the EPA and its outside asbestos consultants have found asbestos-contaminated vermiculite dust seeping through wall switches, ceiling-light fixtures and fans and sometimes through the dried-out joint tape in ceilings and walls.

"If I had Zonolite in my house I would want to know it, and if I knew it, I would do everything I could to get it out of there," said Paul Peronard, who headed the EPA's cleanup of Libby.

The Pain From Zonolite
Ten years ago and about 400 miles west of Libby, Robert Parks walked into the EPA laboratory in Manchester, Wash., across Puget Sound from Seattle. He dropped off a jar of insulation from his attic and asked what it was.

Two mornings later, EPA investigator Keven McDermott was crawling over Kraft paper bags marked "Zonolite" and gathered her own sample.

Les Skramstad
Andrew Schneider for AOL News
Les Skramstad was a sweet-singing cowboy who worked just long enough at the asbestos-contaminated vermiculite mine in Libby, Mont., for the tainted ore to kill him and sicken his wife and two of his children.
Earlier this month, Parks, now 83 and still surviving lung disease, told AOL News that he had sealed up every crack in the attic and was still waiting for Grace to pay to remove it.

"My lawyer just told me that I might be getting a check soon, and, if I do, I need to figure out whether I'll pay some medical bills or have the attic cleaned," Parks said.

For the next seven years, until she retired, McDermott and her EPA partner, Jed Januch, fielded calls from people who had read a story or heard something on the radio about Zonolite.

"Some just ripped your heart out," McDermott told AOL News. "A young Hispanic man called from Yakima and said that he had recently purchased an older home, and he and his wife had just had a baby.

"After reading articles about Zonolite, he realized that that's what he had in his attic and would find dust drifting from the attic onto the crib of his son.

"He was horrified that he was exposing his child to asbestos, and he didn't have the financial ability to either have it removed or to buy a new house. He was speechless and terrified," McDermott recalled.

"These are people who at least had a clue that something about their insulating was dangerous. What about the millions that have no idea at all?

"Just posting it on the agency's website is not the answer. How can EPA still be keeping this a secret?"

Politics Before Public Health

The EPA should know better.

The agency's consultants wrote detailed reports in 1982 showing that people living or working anywhere near the vermiculite ore that was mined in Libby were exposed to potentially lethal levels of the asbestos fibers that contaminated the ore.

Yet the agency did nothing then to protect the miners, the residents of Libby or the tens of thousands of people exposed to the tons of ore shipped to processing plants around the U.S. and Canada -- a fact that still mortifies many in the EPA.

This was more than 15 years before the Seattle Post-Intelligencer reported the devastation caused by the ore being mined from Zonolite Mountain.

Decades later, the EPA again dropped the ball when it followed White House-issued demands that downplayed warnings of the dangers from dust and smoke after the attacks on the Twin Towers. This prompted the agency's own investigators to conclude in a January 2002 internal report: "We cannot delay releasing important public health information."

These lapses in scientific integrity and of putting politics before public health still irk many of the EPA career professionals.

Even more troublesome is the fact that the last three EPA administrators promised to issue warnings about the dangers of this unsafe attic insulation, but nothing happened.

For example, at a town hall meeting in Libby on Sept. 7, 2001, EPA Administrator Christine Todd Whitman said:

"We want everyone who comes in contact with vermiculite -- from homeowners to handymen -- to have the information to protect themselves and their families.

"We know that this asbestos-containing ore has been shipped almost everywhere. We know its intrinsic hazard. We will get the word out."

Whitman returned to Washington and quickly ordered that a public health emergency be declared and, with it, a nationwide warning on Zonolite insulation be prepared.

Most in the agency agreed that the provisions of the declaration would ensure more vital cleanup money for the contaminated homes in Libby and the needed medical services -- such as oxygen, which many need but cannot afford -- for the thousands sickened by asbestos diseases.

But within EPA headquarters there was strong opposition from a small but vocal group in the agency's Office of Pollution Prevention and Toxins, who repeatedly urged that national warning about the dangers of the vermiculite insulation not be made.

In memos and internal correspondence obtained by AOL News, the dissidents called the ramifications "enormous" and said that even if the agency paid for the cleaning of only 1 million homes, it would cost more than $10 billion.

However, no one was calling for EPA to clean these homes, rather to just warn the people who lived in them of the probable danger. Whitman ordered that the announcement move ahead.

May 3, 2003, was the date set for the rollout of what the EPA press office called a "national consumer awareness campaign to provide homeowners with important information on vermiculite attic insulation which may contain asbestos."

News releases had been written, rewritten and written again. Lists of Capitol Hill lawmakers and governors to notify were complied, and all that was left to be decided was whether Whitman would make the announcement from D.C. or Libby.

It was not to happen.

Again, politics entered the picture, and the public health emergency language was stalled, then watered down and ultimately thwarted.

Documents and e-mail between the George W. Bush White House, its Office of Management and Budget and the EPA made it clear that the administration, especially Vice President Dick Cheney, did not want this declaration instituted.

The main reason, the documents showed, was that Cheney was cheerleading, if not orchestrating, the entire congressional effort to pass asbestos tort reform. Tens of thousands of lawsuits being brought against many of America's top corporations sought billions of dollars on behalf of people injured or killed from exposure to asbestos in their products or workplaces.

The law that Cheney supported, if passed, would hamper, if not decimate, the opportunity for injured workers to bring asbestos personal-injury lawsuits against the largest U.S. corporations. These included Grace, the largest automotive and chemical manufacturers, as well as Halliburton, of which Cheney formerly served as chairman and CEO.

At the time, Cheney's office refused to respond to questions the legislation, saying it didn't "comment on internal deliberations."

The bill never passed.

New Administration, Little Change
There is a tendency among some public health activists to blame the failure of EPA to let the public learn the risks they may face on Republicans. But Cheney is long gone and President Barack Obama has been in office for almost two years, and still the warning hasn't been given.

Just last year, on June 16, EPA Administrator Lisa Jackson, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and Montana's U.S. Sens. Max Baucus and Jon Tester announced that Libby would finally get the long-awaited public health emergency designation and the asbestos screening, medical treatment and medication that come with it.

It was the first time anywhere in the country that a declaration was made, but the two agency heads paid only passing note of the asbestos-carrying insulation plaguing the rest of the country.

Jackson told a handful of reporters attending the briefing about the dangers that may still be lurking at the nation's hundreds of now-closed vermiculite processing sites where ore from Libby was turned into insulation.

She urged the public to "become educated."

"Just don't disturb it. Treat it like asbestos. We're just asking people to use common sense and protect themselves and their families," the EPA boss told the reporters, without any indication as to how she expected homeowners to know they could be at risk.

And again, an EPA administrator promised to make a massive and immediate effort to warn the public of the hidden hazard.

It has been 17 months since Jackson made that promise, and still there is no sign of anything beyond what's on the EPA's website.

Miller echoes the views of many others worried about the risk, that the people, the home and business owners, who need the information probably don't read the EPA or CDC or National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health websites.

"The need to really get out to places where people congregate and to get them messages in a way that they can understand is crucial and essential in helping them to understand this material, the risks associated for themselves and their lives," said Miller, who is now a senior medical adviser for the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences.

Repeated requests with EPA's press office for an interview with Jackson or anyone else who can explain the agency's refusal to warn the public of the asbestos dangers were refused.

EDITOR'S NOTE: For more than a decade, two-time Pulitzer Prize-winning investigative reporter Andrew Schneider has followed the saga of the tiny town of Libby, Mont., the asbestos-tainted vermiculite that was mined there and W.R. Grace, the company that shipped the lethal ore throughout the world. Schneider broke the story while with the Seattle Post-Intelligencer, and followed it in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch and The Baltimore Sun. Schneider and David McCumber authored "An Air That Kills." In this four-part report, AOL News' senior public health reporter examines the government's history of neglect in informing the public about the dangers of a killer than lurks in the attics and walls of millions of homes.

what would YOU do?

 5 scruples questions. i love these ^_^

1. You and your ex (who you hate) are in a car, driving to a lawyer to discuss separation terms. The road is icy and he/she loses control and hits a tree. You get out of the car ok, but your ex is unconscious and still behind the wheel. The car is on fire. Do you try to pull him/her free of the car? or just sit and wait for the authorities to show up?

2. You are on your way home from work, minding your own business when you suddenly hear a thump under the car. You realize you just hit an animal. You are a block from your house, and you KNOW your daughter likes to let her dog run around outside. Do you stop and see if you might have run over your daughter's dog? Or keep going and just hope it was a raccoon?

3. You and your best friend both like the same guy. The guy confesses to you that he really likes you, and he is only using your best friend.
what do you do? Date him anyway, knowing how it will hurt your friend? TELL your friend that hes using her, hurting her? Date him in secret hoping she will never find out? Or tell him to go to hell? HONESTY HERE.

4. You are caring for an old woman. She is a nasty mean old woman, and you complain to everyone CONSTANTLY.. Everyone in town knows what a viscous mean old witch she is, and how much you hate her. One day, you show up at her house and find her murdered.
Do you call the cops? Or flee, thinking they will think you murdered her?

5. You are looking around in your basement for somthing, and you come across a rat trap.. with a rat still in it.
The rat is alive, but clearly broken. Its screaming and writing in pain. Do you put it out of its misery? Leave it to die?
Or call a vet?

im looking forward to seeing some interesting answers :)

this leaves a bad taste in my mouth

WASHINGTON – A jury found a Salvadoran immigrant guilty on Monday of murdering Washington intern Chandra Levy back in 2001, when her disappearance became a national sensation.
Ingmar Guandique was convicted of two counts of first-degree murder for attacking Levy while she exercised in Washington's Rock Creek Park in May 2001. Her disappearance made headlines when she was romantically linked with then-Rep. Gary Condit, D-Calif. Condit was once a suspect, but police no longer believe he was involved.
Investigators eventually focused on Guandique (gwahn-DEE-kay) and brought formal charges last year. Prosecutors acknowledged they had little direct evidence but said Levy's death fit a pattern of other crimes committed by Guandique in the park.
The defense argued that Guandique became a scapegoat for a botched investigation.
The jury deliberated over parts of four days before returning with a verdict shortly before noon Monday. They could have opted for a conviction of second-degree murder, but instead chose the more serious counts. Guandique could be sentenced to a minimum of 30 years and a maximum of life in prison. Sentencing was set for Feb. 11.
Defense lawyer Santha Sonenberg declined comment on whether Guandique would appeal the verdict. Prosecutors said they would issue a statement later in the day.
Guandique stared straight ahead as the verdict was read, and he shook his head as he left the courtroom. As he has throughout the trial, he wore a turtleneck that covered his gang tattoos,
Levy's mother squinted and took notes during the hearing, then craned her neck to observe Guandique's reaction to the reading of the verdict.
Prosecutors Amanda Haines and Fernando Campoamor-Sanchez obtained a conviction even though they had no eyewitnesses and no DNA evidence linking Guandique to Levy. And Guandique never confessed to police. Prosecutors hung their hopes in large part on a former cellmate of Guandique, Armando Morales, who testified that Guandique confided in him that he killed Levy.
Morales said Guandique was worried about being labeled a rapist by fellow inmates if word got out that he was a suspect in the Levy case. According to Morales, Guandique admitted killing Levy as part of an attempted robbery, but said he never raped her.
The government also presented testimony from two women who were attacked by Guandique in May and July of 2001 in Rock Creek Park. In both cases, Guandique attacked the women from behind while they jogged on isolated trails but ran off after each woman fought him off.
Defense attorneys said Morales' testimony couldn't be trusted. They also pointed to DNA from an unknown male that was found on Levy's black running tights. The DNA matched neither Guandique nor Condit, and the defense said it was powerful evidence that the wrong person was on trial. Prosecutors argued the DNA was the result of contamination during the testing process.
The monthlong trial featured testimony from Condit himself, who denied any involvement in Levy's disappearance or death. But as he has for the past decade, he refused to answer whether he had an affair with Levy, saying he was entitled to some privacy. Even though defense lawyers asked him several times on cross-examination, he refused to answer and the judge never required him to do so.
In their closing arguments, the defense indirectly pointed a finger at Condit, suggesting that he acted "like a guilty man" throughout the investigation by trying to cover up his affair with Levy and refusing to answer questions to a grand jury. Prosecutors said he was simply trying to protect his reputation.
Guandique, 29, listened to the entire proceedings through headphones providing a Spanish interpretation. His legs were shackled through the trial, though that was hidden from jurors' view.

ok so, what happened to innocent until PROVEN guilty? what happened to evidence? am i the only one here who thinks this guy was set up?
This whole verdict stinks and this guy is clearly a scapegoat. there is no  stronger evidence than DNA and THIS GUYS DIDNT MATCH!
justice had been raped again!

Malibu Ken Dracula and his super hot wives

Well, the launcher is being a dick AGAIN and wont let me upload these to the exchange. so i guess i have no choice but to upload it to here and hope someone sees it.
here are my lovelies. i have been working on them all day.

I was inspired by the movie Dracula 2 by Wes Craven. The Dracula character in that movie was SO not Dracula looking lol. He was a blond surfer looking dude. So i thought, hey he might be fun to make! And Dracula isnt complete with his succubus brides, luring unsuspecting victems back to the castle to feed on.
(they were NOT in the movie, i made them up)

wife number one, Illara. doncha love the atmosphere of Twinbrook?

wife number 2, Varella. already sampling the local cuisine.

and here is malibu ken dracula

sorry for the darkness of all the pics, they cant afford any lights in the house yet hahaha.

so i uploaded them all as one family, so they should all have their vampire powers and whatever skills they have collected in their short lives. They are not all in love yet. Dracula has a little thing with Varella, but not with Illara yet. and both ladies are more than willing to take a night off and go find their own date.

but i got the no jealousy thing, so all should go well. and with the mod from modthesims where you only need to say hi to a sim to bite them, im having ALOT of fun with these 3.

its worrying me tho..

you know what this made me cry.... and i dont have a mailing list to pass it to

Courage.

You're a 19 year old kid.

You're critically wounded and dying in
the  jungle somewhere in the Central Highlands  of Viet Nam .

It's  November 11, 1967.

LZ (landing zone) X-ray.

Your unit is  outnumbered 8-1 and the enemy fire is so  intense, from 100 yards away, that  your CO (commanding officer) has  ordered the MedEvac helicopters to stop coming  in.

You're lying there, listening to the enemy machine guns  and you know you're not getting out.

Your family is half way around the world, 12,000  miles away, and you'll never see them again.

As the world starts to fade in and out, you know this is the day.

Then - over the machine gun noise - you faintly hear that sound of a helicopter.

You look  up to see a Huey coming in. But ... It doesn't  seem real because no MedEvac markings are on it.

Captain Ed Freeman is coming in for you.

He's not MedEvac so it's not his job, but he heard the radio call and decided he's flying his Huey down into the machine gun fire anyway.

Even after the MedEvacs were ordered
not to come.
He's coming anyway.

And he drops it in and sits there in the machine gun fire, as they load 3 of you at a time on board.

Then he  flies you up and out through the gunfire to the doctors and nurses and safety.

And, he kept coming back!! 13 more  times!!

Until all  the wounded were out. No one knew until the  mission was over that the Captain had been hit 4 times in the legs and left arm.

He took 29 of you and your buddies out that day. Some would not have made it without the Captain and his Huey.

Medal  of Honor Recipient,
Captain  Ed Freeman, United States Air Force, died last Wednesday at the age of 70, in Boise, Idaho ..

May God Bless and Rest His Soul.

I bet you didn't hear about this hero's
passing,  but we've sure seen a whole bunch about Michael Jackson, Tiger Woods and the bickering of congress over Health Reform.

Medal of  Honor Winner Captain Ed Freeman

Shame on the American media !!!

Now ... YOU pass this along to YOUR
mailing list.  Honor this real American.

Please.

neat info about the 1 dollar bill

Who Was Haym Solomon?
History from a $1 Bill-Fascinating! Read all the way to the bottom to know about Haym Solomon

On the rear of the One Dollar bill, you will see two circles. Together, they comprise the Great Seal of the United States. The First Continental Congress requested that Benjamin Franklin and a group of men come up with a Seal. It took those four years to accomplish this task and another two years to get it approved.
If you look at the left-hand circle, you will see a Pyramid
.

Notice the face is lighted, and the western side is dark. This country was just beginning. We had not begun to explore the west or decided what we could do for Western Civilization. The Pyramid is uncapped, again signifying that we were not even close to being finished. Inside the Capstone you have the all-seeing eye, an ancient symbol for divinity. It was Franklin's belief that one man couldn't do it alone, but a group of men, with the help of God, could do anything.

'IN GOD WE TRUST' is on this currency.
The Latin above the pyramid, ANNUIT COEPTIS, means, 'God has favored our undertaking.' The Latin below the pyramid, NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM, means, 'a new order has begun.' At the base of the pyramid is the Roman numeral for 1776. (MDCCLXXVI)

If you look at the right-hand circle, and check it carefully, you will learn that it is on every National   Cemetery in the United States. It is also on the Parade of Flags Walkway at the  Bushnell, Florida National Cemetery , and is the centerpiece of most heroes' monuments. Slightly modified, it is the seal of the President of the United States, and it is always visible whenever he speaks, yet very few people know what the symbols mean..

The Bald Eagle was selected as a symbol for victory for two reasons: First, he is not afraid of a storm; he is strong, and he is smart enough to soar above it. Secondly, he wears no material crown. We had just broken from the King of England. Also, notice the shield is unsupported. This country can now stand on its own. At the top of that shield you have a white bar signifying congress, a unifying factor. We were coming together as one nation. In the Eagle's beak you will read, 'E PLURIBUS UNUM' meaning, 'from many - one.'
Above the Eagle, you have the thirteen stars, representing the thirteen original colonies, and any clouds of misunderstanding rolling away. Again, we were coming together as one.

Notice what the Eagle holds in his talons. He holds an olive branch and Arrows.  This country wants peace, but we will never be afraid to fight to preserve peace. The Eagle always wants to face the olive branch, but in time of war, his gaze turns toward the arrows.
They say that the number 13 is an unlucky number. This is almost a worldwide belief. You will usually never see a room numbered 13, or any hotels or motels with a 13th floor. But think about this:
13 original colonies,
13 signers of the Declaration of Independence   ,
13 stripes on our flag,
13 steps on the Pyramid,
13 letters in 'Annuit Coeptis,'
13 letters in 'E Pluribus Unum,'
13 stars above the Eagle,
13 bars on that shield,
13 leaves on the
olive branch,
13 fruits, and if you look closely,
13 arrows.
And finally, if you notice the arrangement of the 13 stars in the right-hand circle you will see that they are arranged as a Star of DavidThis was ordered by George Washington who, when he asked Haym Solomon, a wealthy Philadelphia Jew, what he would like as a personal reward for his services to the Continental Army, Solomon said he wanted  nothing for himself but that he would like something for his people. The Star of David was the result. Few people know that it was Solomon who saved the Army through his financial contributions but died a pauper. Haym Solomon gave $25 million to the Continental Army, money that was extremely important to our independence from  England  .
I always ask people, 'Why don't you know this?' Your children do NOT know this, and their history teachers do NOT know this. Too many veterans have given up too much to ever let the meaning fade. Many veterans remember coming home to an America that did NOT care. Too many veterans never came home at all..
I, for one, plan to share this page with everyone, so that they can learn what is on the back of the UNITED STATES ONE DOLLAR BILL, and what it stands for!

Your Weekly Horror-Scope

yes its been a while (the pic uploaded on blogger was broken) but its back with a vengence. yes, your weekly HORROR-SCOPE is here!

Today you might be a bit worried about your financial affairs, Aquarius. A past mistake could have led to some rather upsetting consequences. I guess that one night stand wasnt on the pill after all. Now the child support lawyers are hounding you. Last time you do jello shots with a stranger.

This isn't a good day to be out and about, because travel of any kind could pose problems.  You might miss the bus, or The trains could be late. Or you could get a cabbie whos on crystal meth and just got dumped by his tranny girlfriend and he just HAS to take it out on somebody.

Too much running around might have you feeling exhausted and under the weather today, Cancer. Relax a little. Your not everyones errand boy, after all.  Unless of course, that IS in fact your job title. If thats the case, ill take a coffee, light and sweet. chop chop.

Short visits in your neighborhood could catapult you into some negative situations, Capricorn. Hopefully they arent filming COPS anywhere near your town, because you will have your fill of domestic situation, and drunken yahoos before the night is over. Better it not be splattered all over the TV as well.

This isn't a good day to go to lunch with co-workers. Bunch of gossiping two faces.  The more time you spend with those people the more they repulse you. Your better off taking lunch under a tree. Even if it IS 12 degrees outside.

You could feel extremely passionate today, Leo. You might want to connect with a love partner but be prevented by circumstances. Like that bulletproof glass in the county jail. Why o why cant they just let you have one little kiss? Its not like she smuggled a lockpick in her mouth this time.

Stay close to home today, Libra. I hear there is a cabbie loose with a meth problem. Hes been taking Aries hostages. Just in case you look like an Aries, best to avoid travel.

Your physical energy is very high today, Pisces.  Your the spastic type who is always bouncing around everywhere. Im getting tired just watching you. Did you eat all your halloween candy in one day??

Sagittarius, check your house to make certain everything is in working order. Today you may find a few small things here and there might need a little adjusting. Doorknobs may be loose, paint may be peeling a little. Just dont go all super OCD and check the oven knobs 6 times in a row....... again.

Money matters might take a turn for the worse today. Don't fly off the handle because of this, Scorpio. Cause we know how much you LOVE doing that. Really, its ok to let a few things slide now and then. I dont think locking little Jimmy in the basement because he flushed your credit card down the toilet, is an appropriate way to deal with a toddler.

If a friend or acquaintance gives you advice about money or investments today, don't take it. Goodness knows all your friends are idiots. Why would you take ANY advice from them? Those knuckle scraping dunderheads? They should be listening to YOU! Maybe you should write a book... I know EVERYTHING by I.M. Taurus.. yeah...

Electrical or plumbing problems with your house might come up. Call a professional, Virgo. Please, PLEASE dont try to fix it yourself. Ever see what happens to a body as it falls off a roof into a BBQ pit? its not pretty.
