oh bother and befuddle
stuck STUCK!
well kinda. so ive been having some minor issues with skyrim that ive been ignoring. im not sure which mod caused it, cause it didnt show up right away. i needed to progress far enough to collect barenziah stones to notice there was a problem, and by then some time had passed and several more mods had been added. (mod testing on skyrim can be complicated)
so about a week ago i come back to the game after a hiatus of playing 7 days to die. i removed some mod or other (dont remember why) and it corrupted my game files so i started a fresh one. everything was going fine and dandy with the new file untill i tried to do the thieves guild quest, where you talk to vex about the unusual stone (barenziah stone). the dialog just doesnt show up. and for some reason, i can drop the stones. these are usually bound to you as they are quest items. they are not droppable. this quest worked fine on my previous character, so im not sure exactly what broke it. the few mods i did install recently, are like non-negotiable. seriously i love them.
so i went on my merry way and said to myself, 'eh who needs the barenziah stones anyway'. so im out questing around, leveling up, having a grand ol time and i come to the dawnguard quest. i go thru the entire freeking soul cairn with stupid serana (i hate her) and collect the elder scroll from her stupid mother, so i can get on with the quest and get back to traveling with my hot elf husband thank you very much.
only, now the elder scroll that i got in blackreach, doesnt seem to count as a quest item anymore. it says i dont have it. but i indeed DO have it. and like the barenziah stones, i can drop the elder scroll (something you should not be able to do)
so now im just FUCKED. i could probably live without the prowlers profit buff, but the elder scrolls? ill never be able to finish TWO of the major storylines. thats game breaking. this is a travesty.
but the last few major mods i got are whats driving my character right now. if i remove them, she is more or less done. and probably corrupted. ive already removed every minor mod ive installed recently to no avail. so it must be one of the big ones.
ordinator, druid summons, fast leveling, or dragonfall castle.
ordinator reworks the perk tree. so removing it completely destroy my character. (and might corrupt the save file) she is a conjurer, so removing the druid summon mod will also be a huge blow (altho one i could probably live with) but i dont see how this mod would even be an issue. but you never know. fast leveling is a must have, especially with ordinator, since ive maxed several skills now but still havent maxed their perk trees. 100 one hand skill but still have like 5 perks to buy? extra leveling, yes please!
and dragonfall castle... i JUST got enough money to buy the castle and i moved my husband in there. its AMAZING. i cant just remove it, its my current home. i would need to buy another home (and be out 50000 gold to boot) and relocate all my stuff and my family. i dont not currently have another home. and its an AWESOME castle. you cant go from living in a castle to some peasant cottage :(
but the castle has a trophy room where you can place various treasures and the elder scrolls are one of the things... so im thinking.. maybe... but there isnt anything there for the barenziah stones so i really dont fucking know.
AAARH. my game is broken but i cant fix it. and i already had to start this character over once as i fucked something up last time and she wasnt able to become a vampire so i just remade her.
i REALLY dont want to remove any of the mods i mentioned, but im running out of options i think. shes ruined either way. if i remove any of those mods, i can never play that character again. and if i dont remove the offending mod, the game is broken. and i just got her to like 45. maybe, ill just keep going until i get to 80. and finally meet the ebony warrior. i never get that far, as i beat all the storylines, get bored, and roll a new guy. i wont be able to beat dawnguard or the main storyline (grr) but ill probably get bored of her before i beat all the questlines anyway. ill just have to avoid those two. (haha and they are the only two i started) HOPEFULLY, none of the others are broken.
